BS”D
When we approach the holiday commemorating our acceptance of the Torah thousands of years ago, we recommit ourselves to that acceptance by increasing our efforts to engage in serious Torah study. Whether as part of a shiur, picking up a sefer on your own, or starting a chavrusa, this time of year is auspicious to begin a new seder halimud, a new order of study. As a community we begin the process of focusing on limud haTorah with the all-night Tikkun Leil Shavuos tomorrow evening, Motzei Shabbos, May 23rd beginning at 11:30 pm. There will be shiurim throughout the night in the Main Shul, and additional shiurim for teens and the youth. In the Main Shul, the shiur schedule is as follows:
11:30 PM
Rav Chaim Marcus - The Epilogue of the Decalogue
**********
1:00 AM
Rav Uzi Beer - Labeling or Foreshadowing: Understanding Rashis View of the Avot
*************
1:50 AM
Dr. Rachel Kohn - Practical Applications of the Tenth Commandment
**********
2:40 AM
Rav Aryeh Czarka - Eyes Only: Ayin Hara Uncovered
*************
3:30 AM
Rav Aron Srolovitz - Time is on Our Side(s)
************
4:20 AM
Adam Reich - Just Do It: Turning Ourselves into Gluttons for Mitzvos
Of course, along with the great shiurim and learning, there will be refreshments all night long (especially sushi). A special ‘thank you’ to all our sponsors!
In addition to the Tikun in Shul tomorrow night, we will be hosting a special Women’s Shavuos Shiur on Sunday afternoon, May 24th, at 4:45 PM at our home, 3 Richland Drive.
Have a great Shabbos and a Chag Sameach.
